The Countdown to “Dine About Town San Francisco” Begins – Reservations are now available for Jan. 15-31

Dec. 15, 2009 – Reservations are now being accepted for the popular “Dine About Town San Francisco” restaurant promotion which returns Jan. 15 – 31, 2010. The complete list of restaurants is posted on San Francisco’s official visitor Web site www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com/dineabouttown. New restaurants to participate in the January 2010 promotion include 5A5 Steak Lounge; Amber India; Blowfish Sushi to Die For; cityhouse, DOSA on Valencia, Eclipse; Fifth Floor, Le Central, Luna Park, Swell, The Plant Cafe Organic and Waterbar.
The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (SFCVB) popular “Dine About Town San Francisco” provides food and wine enthusiasts with an incentive to experience many of San Francisco’s finest restaurants at a fraction of the price. The seasonal promotion, which enters its ninth year in 2010, offers participants a new two-course lunch menu for $17.95 and/or a three-course dinner menu for $34.95 Jan. 15-31 and again June 1 – 15.
On Jan. 13, 2010 at 6 p.m., the public is invited to celebrate “Dine About Town San Francisco” at a launch party under the dome at Westfield San Francisco Centre. With a $20 donation to Meals On Wheels, guests may sample offerings and meet the chefs from a variety of participating Dine About Town restaurants. Reservations for both the launch party and Dine About Town may be made at www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com/dineabouttown. Space is limited.
Dates and times of participation vary by restaurant. A la carte menus will also be available. Reservations are encouraged and may be made online through a partnership with OpenTable.com. Information is also available by calling 415-391-2000. American Express is the preferred method of payment for Dine About Town. Dine About Town sponsors include American Express, the San Francisco Chronicle, Westfield San Francisco Centre and Blue Angel Vodka. Restaurants that have participated in Dine About Town since its inception in 2002 include: Absinthe Brasserie and Bar; Asia de Cuba; Le Colonial; and Scoma’s Restaurant.
With the new ‘Stay & Shop SF’ promotion, diners are encouraged to create an entire weekend around Dine About Town San Francisco, also at a fraction of the cost. Through Jan. 31, 2010, the SFCVB, American Express and Westfield San Francisco Centre are providing visitors who book a two-night minimum stay at one of the 15 participating hotels a $50 Westfield Gift Card (limit one gift card per stay), and complimentary parking and breakfast when they pay with any American Express ® Card. The “Stay & Shop SF” promotion includes hotels in the Civic Center, Fisherman’s Wharf, Union Square, Financial District and Pacific Heights. This promotion is limited to the first 400 people who book a “Stay & Shop SF” package on www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com. All travel must be completed by Jan. 31, 2010.
