Simi Winery has been in business for 132 years and was founded in San Francisco in 1876. The winery is certified “green” in Sonoma county by The Bay Area Green Business.
We recycle all our corks, glass, paper, cardboard, waste water, and winery waste. We are changing out our lighting systems to be more efficient and we are adding a scrubber to reduce air contaminants. Our vineyards are sustainable, and we recycle our trimmings etc., back into the vineyards.

Bikes are available to guests who are interested in exploring the property and surrounding areas, which means the car can stay parked until check-out. The property also offers eco destination weddings in a 3,500 square-foot barn-like venue with locally sourced food; the resort’s wedding planner will work with the couple to incorporate additional green initiatives such as recycling, composting and donations to local charities.

GES Exposition Services understand the significance of doing whatever is possible to not only preserve our environment, but to improve it. This begins with educating our employees and clients, having a global vision and mobilizing our collective efforts to meet this commitment. Over the years, our organization has set itself apart as an environmentally responsible industry leader, doing our part in making this planet a more beautiful and resourceful place to live. From our progressive recycling programs in-house and at show site to our “Green” association partnerships, GES will continue to do its part in promoting a higher level of social responsibility.
GES supports a number of local options as well in re-use, re-purpose and re-cycle including providing green content products in carpet, graphics and other items. These efforts are supplemented through recycling all materials from show site through the venue and/or returned to GES. These include aluminum, books, cardboard, padding, chipboard, copy paper, glass bottles, nylon paper board and many other paper products.
Also GES has a number of other conservation efforts in place. Key among them is our efforts toward certification of this branch as a green business which should be completed by December 2008. Moreover we are committed to actively pursuing vendors who can certify their products as well.
We invite you to begin a dialogue with GES on a multitude of other efforts we can work on as a team to support sustainability for the trade show, event and meeting industry.
