Donna Sachet's 17th Annual Songs of the Season
Donna Sachet, known for her fun-loving spirit, quick wit, fund-raising acumen, and musical talent, has entertained at venues as varied as The Plush Room, Harry Denton's Starlight Room, the Castro Theatre, Great American Music Hall, the Grand Staircase of City Hall, and Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco and in Washington, D.C. at the foot of the Washington Monument, in Sydney, Australia for Gay Mardi Gras, in New York City at the Marriott Marquis on Broadway, in Los Angeles at the Metropolitan Community Church with the cast of Mama Mia, and in Chicago for the San Francisco Party at the International Mr. Leather Competition. She has shared the live stage with Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein, Bruce Vilanch, Rita Moreno, Carol Channing, Wesla Whitfield, and the late Nell Carter, to name a few. She reigned as Miss Gay SF in 1993 and as the thirtieth elected Empress of SF in 1995-96. This is the 17th consecutive year of her Songs of the Season, a light-hearted variety show, produced by Richard J Sablatura, benefiting the AIDS Emergency Fund, and featuring holiday music performed by Donna and her talented friends, this year including international recording artists Abigail and Kim Kuzma, Tony nominated comic singer Sharon McNight, sexy songster Bill Bunn, and local favorite Connie Champagne.
