Eccentrics of San Francisco's Barbary Coast
Celebrate San Francisco's wild, wacky, and romantic past, with world-class entertainers spinning tales and weaving enchantment at the Chancellor Hotel's Luques Restaurant. Captivating storytellers Walt Anthony, David Miller, Brian Scott, and Ruth Fraser will chronicle the times the City was destroyed-and-rebuilt between the Gold Rush and the Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915, the toll local Vigilantes took on Barbary Coast life, tall-tales of beloved Emperor Norton, despised Shanghai Kelly, boisterous entertainers Lola Montez and Lotta Crabtree, Union Square's Statue "Big" Alma, young satirist Mark Twain, and the infamous Voodoo Queen Mary Ellen Pleasant. Refreshments will be available starting at 7:30pm.
Important Information: This show is recommended for ages 14 and up.
