Milk
The gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender history of San Francisco is famous around the world in part because of the award winning film Milk, which focuses on martyred city supervisor Harvey Milk. An exhibit surveying the city’s GLBT history is now open in the heart of Harvey’s old neighborhood, the corner of Castro and 18th Street. On exhibit are hundreds of treasures from the archives of the GLBT Historical Society including Harvey Milk’s personal effects and the sewing machine that made the first rainbow flags. More>>
